The iNurse project is an innovative recruitment program that addresses Belgium's nursing shortage by training and placing skilled Indian and Tibetan nurses in the Belgian healthcare system.
Candidates should possess a GNM or BSc Nursing degree, with a minimum of one year of clinical experience. Fluency in English is required (IELTS score of 6 or higher is preferred). They must also meet other criteria, such as age and willingness to relocate. For detailed eligibility information, please visit our website
The six-month pre-departure training will be held at Sarah University in Dharamsala, India. It includes Dutch language preparation (B2 Nieuw-CNVAT level), nursing skills, geriatric care, psychology, and interview preparation.
The first month of accommodation is provided as part of the program, excluding the security deposit. Upon arrival, nurses will receive support with housing, internet, groceries, and SIM cards. Additionally, the program covers the cost of paid accommodation for the first one months and assists with their integration into the Belgian healthcare system.
Nurses must pass the A2-level Dutch language exam conducted by HIVSET Nursing School or the Dutch Roof Consultancy in Bangalore in May and continue their studies to reach the B2 level. Successful completion qualifies them for the Single Permit Visa and placement in Belgium.
Candidates will work under a Single Permit (valid for 5 years) with an employer and will be entitled to an unlimited job contract that can be switched or terminated by mutual consent.
Your workplace will depend on the location of your employer, which could be in a city or the countryside, specifically within the province of Antwerpen, Belgium.
During the five-year period under the Single Permit, you must work exclusively for your assigned employer. The initial training phase consists of 40% study at HIVSET Nursing School, with the remaining 60% dedicated to work. After completing the training, you will work full-time, 38 hours per week.
For the first year, while working as a nursing assistant, you will be paid according to Belgium’s salary regulations, based on IFFIC standards. After completing one year and becoming a registered nurse, your minimum gross salary will be €3,140/month (₹282,928/month), with a net salary of €2,190/month (₹189,613/month). Salaries will increase with additional years of experience and seniority.
You will receive a Single Permit valid for one year. Your employer will then extend it for an additional year, followed by a three-year extension. After completing these renewals, you can apply for an indefinite Single Permit. After five years of continuous employment, you will be eligible to apply for Belgian citizenship.
